Our Story
A family restaurant tradition since 2001, proudly serving Portland since 2008.
Our family's restaurant journey began in San Jose, California, in 2001, when the Torres family opened its first restaurant. It was there that we developed the recipes, hospitality, and commitment to quality that continue to guide our family today.
In 2008, our family moved from San Jose to Portland, Oregon. During that same year, we opened Taqueria Portland in St. Johns, North Portland. With the support of our customers, employees, and community, the restaurant became part of our new home in Portland.

In 2013, Taqueria Portland moved from St. Johns to Southeast Portland. We continued serving longtime customers while welcoming new neighbors and families into the restaurant.
We later expanded with our Johnson Creek location, allowing us to serve even more of the Portland community through two locations.
Today, Taqueria Portland proudly continues the restaurant tradition our family began in 2001. Our journey has taken us from San Jose to St. Johns and Southeast Portland, but our commitment remains the same: serve flavorful Mexican food with care, consistency, generosity, and genuine hospitality.
